Does it look like chocolate or fudge cake?? No its not! Its the yummy healthy Raagi halwa..Ain’t this one attractive! And oh ya! definitely healthy. A rich source of Protein, Calcium and Iron. ( I still drink the yummy raagi malt every morning )

Ingredients:

1. Raagi flour – 2 cups

2. Sugar – 3 cups

3. Cashew nuts -15

4. Almonds – 15

5. Raisins – 15

6. Ghee – 1 tsp

7. Milk – 1 1/2 cup

8. Cardamon – 1

Method:

1. In a wide sauce pan add ghee cashew nuts, Raisins, Cardamon, Almonds and fry until they are golden brown.

2. Now add the raagi flour and fry for about 5 minutes.

3.  Add sugar and milk to the mixtures and keep stirring continuously make sure there are no lumps if needed add some more milk. Let it boil for about 10-15 minutes.

4. Let it cool down for a while and serve.

(** You can mold in what ever shape you want.. I spread the whole paste on to a plate and mold it into a cake..sprinkling sugar on the top**)

A fruity delight!( fruit custard) November 4, 2008

Ingredients:

Custard powder-2 tbsp

milk- 500 ml.

sugar – 50 g

honey – 2 tbsp (optional)

nuts -of your choice (optional)

fruits -of your choice.

Method:

1. I used the regular vanilla custard powder.

2. Take 2 tbsp of the custard powder into a bowl.

3. Add 1/4 ml milk of 500 ml to make a smooth paste (*mix really well *).

4. Boil the remaining milk with 50g sugar (*cook on low flame*).

5. when the milk is boiled add the paste and stir continuously (* This is the most important part ..take care of lumps and don’t burn the bottom at all *).

6. Let it boil for 5 minutes. (**Keep stirring**)

7. When done let it cool down before you put it in the refrigerator.

8. Add some chopped nuts, honey, and fruits of your choice before serving.
